EDUCATION FOR FOREIGN CITIZENS AND CITIZENS OF UKRAINE PERMANENTLY LIVING IN OTHER COUNTRIES

      1. General Knowledge.

      The University gives foreigners and citizens of Ukraine permanently living in other countries an opportunity to get higher education in one of the specialties in the day time or correspondence departments. The National Transport University is higher state educational establishment of the fourth (highest) level of accreditation, which trains specialists according to the educational levels: bachelor, specialist and master. Information about all specialities is given in other section of this site.

      Terms of education for bachelor - 4 years (5), for specialist - 5 years (6) and for master 5.5 years (6.5). Information in brackets is given for students who are going to study at a correspondence department.

      The graduates get a diploma as a State Certificate.

      The University co-operates in an international legalization of diploma through the Ministry of Education and Science.

      Education is charged and costs 1300 US$ in the day time department and 700 US$ in a correspondence department.

There is a preparatory department for foreign students, who don't know Ukrainian language, but they want to study at the University. During one academic year students of preparatory department learn Ukrainian language and literature, Russian language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Computing. After completing their studies students are enrolled in a first year of the University or they also can enter the educational establishment of Ukraine. Cost of education at the preparatory departments is 1000 US$.

      Students of the day time and preparatory departments are accommodated in a student's hostel. Cost of residence in a hostel is 30 US$ per month.

      The University also gives an opportunity to continue education for people, who studied at other higher educational establishment, but didn't complete their education.

      Also, our University offers a post graduate course and a special course for people who want to get the second high education.

      2. List of documents presented to Matriculation of the University.

      2.1. For foreign students:

a) copy of the General Certificate of Education with a list of course in each subject;
b) passport;
c) AIDS test results;
d) medical certificate with the date not later than two months before leaving your country; this document must be certificated by Official Medical Establishment of your country;
e) copy of health insurance policy for giving medical and in case of emergency. (this document is not required for the CIS citizens);
f) copy of certificate of birth;
g) 6 colour photos (30*40 mm size);
h) return ticket with open date within a year (it is not required for the CIS citizens).

      The documents in the points a), c) and d) must be certified according to a legislation of country, which issued them. Also, these documents must be legalized according to the established order.

      2.2. For citizens of Ukraine permanently living in other countries:

a) the General Certificate of Education or a diploma of Technical Secondary school, College or Specialized Vocational school with a list of courses in each subject;
b) medical certificate (form-086). It is given in medical establishments of Ukraine;
c) passport;
d) draft card (registration certificate or serviceman's identity card) - only for applicants of the day time department;
e) 4 photos (30*40 mm size).

      3. Order and terms for submitting of documents.

      3.1 For foreigners

      Entry visa for training is given in the Embassy establishments of Ukraine. For receiving of a visa you have to submit an original of the Invitation in the Embassy. The University authorities give a special Invitation based on your application. You can address to the University personally, through a confidential agent or be mail. It is necessary to mention a surname, a full name, citizenship, date and place of your birth, address of your permanent residence, the right post address, e-mail (if it is available). Also, you have to present copies of your passport and the General Certificate of Education.

      This service is charged. Its cost is 50 US$. An application is made and sent to applicant only if it is paid.

      In order to receive an Invitation you have to address to the University in period from 10 May to 10 September.

      In case if an applicant has changed his mind to study at our University, money is not given back.

      For citizens the CIS (with exceptions citizens of Turkmenistan) the Invitation is not required.

      Applicants who are going to enter the preparatory department have to arrive and present their documents in terms from 10 May to 10 October.

      The documents are presented personally. Applicants sign a contract with the University and pay for training.

      Applicants must take a health insurance policy in the State Insurance Company "Ukrmedstrah" for giving them a medical aid and in case of emergency. Also, they take insurance policy for an ambulatory medical service. Cost of both policies is 100 US$ per year. In accordance with the Ukrainian legislation the foreigners arrived in Ukraine have to register in Police station.

      After registration and presentation of all documents applicants are enrolled to the University and begin their studies on the 1st of October.

      The foreigners, entering the correspondence departments have to address to University their Invitation in period from 10 May to 1 August. All documents pointed in 2.1 are presented personally in the period from 25 August to 10 September. They sign a contract with the University authorities and pay for one academic year training.

      After interview and enrolling in the first year of correspondence department students attend their studies and get task for their individual work in the period in the first session, which is held from 14 September to 21 September. Students of the correspondence department are not provided with place for living.

      3.2. For citizens of Ukraine permanently living in other countries.

      Applicants present personally all the documents pointes in 2.2.

      Documents are accepted:
- day time department - from 25 August to 10 September;
- correspondence department - from 25 August to 10 September;
- preparatory department - from 10 September to 10 October.

      Applicants sign a contract with the University authorities, pay for one year training and after interview they begin studies.
