     The Institute prepares foreign citizens to enter National Transport University .

     At the Institute foreign citizens do bachelor’s, master's degree courses.

     The Institute prepares citizens of Ukraine to enter National Transport University through:
     • evening preparatory courses;
     • Sunday’s preparatory courses ;
     • intensive preparatory courses;
     • classes of lyceums are at secondary schools;
     • Kievan educational complex of motor-car and road education.

     Educational activity of the Institute is carried out pursuant to the licenses of the Ministry of

     Education and Science of Ukraine:

     The Institute is a structural subdivision of National Transport University. It was formed on the basis of the faculty of pre-university preparation in accordance with the Order of the rector of 16.02.2004, which had been preceded by the decision of Scientific Board of the University of 27.11.2003 .

     The Institute consists of two structural subsections: department of education and methodological work which is in charge of pre-university preparation of citizens of Ukraine, and Center for preparation of foreign students, which is responsible for the studies of foreign citizens in NTU and other questions of international cooperation. Scientific Board, methodological board and selection committee of the Admissions Commission of NTU, function at the Institute .

     “A wise man never knows all; he only knows what is necessary. “, – these words of Aeschylus are the motto of teachers and employee of the Institute .

     The basic task of the academic staff lies in liquidation of knowledge gaps of students,their prepare to sit the external independent tests in the Ukrainian language and literature, mathematics, history of Ukraine, to lay the foundation for successful studies at the university.

     Pre-university preparation of thecitizens of Ukraine is organized through preparatory courses ( evening and Saturday courses are available .Evening long-term preparatory courses (term of studies is 8 months) take place three times a week with 4 academic hours every day and on Saturdays students study for 8 academic hours.

     An educational process in the form of practicals, tests and tutorials is conducted on the basis of calendar-thematic programs, developed on the basis of the national curriculums of secondary school. The methodologists of the institute together with the teachers are completing work on creation of educational and methodical complex of literature.As of today, they have issued and introduced intoteaching nine manuals in the basic sections of mathematics and Ukrainian.

     The educational groups of long-term preparatory courses are formed on the basis of placement test results, which allows to differentiate the educational process, taking into account the level of students preparation. The educational process at preparatory courses is provided by 42 teaching staff, with 12 candidates of science. 26 lecturers of the University and others being – skilled, experienced teachers of secondary schools and employees of scientific establishments.

     Professional-orientation work at the Institute helps students choose future specialty. Lecturers and employees of the institute as well as the leaders of Admissions Commission, Deans of the faculties, heads of NTU institutes,heads of the departments,the leading scientists of the university are constantly involved in this work. The analysis of winter examinations results shows that first year students who finished long-term preparatory courses are among the best students of the University.

     One of main tasks of the Institute is to attract foreign students from round the world. Today there are 186 foreigners who are studying at the university – among them we have citizens of Azerbaijan, Byelorussia, Georgia, Ecuador, Israel, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, China, Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, Germany, Russia, Turkey, Turkmenistan.

     The institute co-operates closely with Department of International Cooperation and European Integration, Ukrainian state center of international education (Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine), diplomatic representative offices of several foreign states, accredited in Ukraine. A number of agreements have been concluded with agencies in order to send foreigners to study in Ukraine. On the basis of this agreements invitations are given out for studies at NTU.

     Work is conducted to collaborate with international educational organizations and leading foreign universities. Necessary Information on international cooperation can be found in sections of the faculties and departments of the university.
