Head of Department – Dmitriev Nikolai Nikolaevich, Doctor of Science in Technology, Professor, Ukrainian State Prize Laureate in science and technology, Honored Employee of National Education of Ukraine, Academician of Transport Academy of Ukraine, Academician of the Transport Academy of the Russian Federation, Honored Professor of MADI, awarded the Order of Merit of III degree, the author of more than 150 scientific publications in the field of machines and constructions reliability, including 5 monographs, textbooks and manuals. He lectures on “Fundamentals of Airport Operation”. |

Petrashevskyy Oleg L’vovich - Professor, Doctor of Science in Technology, Academician of Transport Academy of Ukraine, Academician of the Transport Academy of Russia, Academician of International Information Academy, the author of more than 110 scientific publications. Key research interest is transport safety. He lectures on "The Certification of Airfields and Airports’’, Airport Radio Light Technical Equipment”, “Air Traffic Control"..
Papchenko Oleg Mychaylovich - Professor, Doctor of Science in Technology, USSR State Prize Laureate in the field of science and technology, Academician of Transport Academy of Ukraine. He is the author of more than 70 scientific publications in the field of aerodynamics tests and design of airports, including 6 monographs, textbooks and manuals. His key interests are basic principles of airport design and organization and he lectures on "General Airport Planning”, “Survey and Design of Airports”, "Ecology in the Airports Area”, “Fundamentals of Airport Operation”,”Foreign Trade Transfer Operations.”
Habutdinov Ramazan Abdulayovych - Professor, Doctor of Science in Technology, a holder of the badge for Scientific Achievements. His key research interest is energy saving automotive technology system in road transportation. He is the author of more than 85 scientific publications, including one monograph. He teaches the following courses: "Special Transport and Cargo Handling Equipment”, “Vehicle Operating Characteristics," Vehicle Technical Maintenance Principles, «Airport Special Transport.”
Gusev Alexander Volodymyrovych – Associate Professor, Candidate of Science in Technology. His key research interests are transport safety, road traffic safety, operator and driver safety, driver/operator visual information acquisition, vehicle safety, hazardous freight safety etc. He lectures on “Freight Engineering” and “Airport Construction and Operation” .
Zakrevskiy Anatoly Ivanovich - Associate Professor, Candidate of Science in Technology. He develops methods for airport design improvement and lectures on " Operation Principles of Aircraft and Airport Ground Facilities “Principles of Airfield Design”,” Information Management of Airports”, “Airfields Vertical Planning.”
Rutkovska Inessa Anatolyyvna - Associate Professor, Candidate of Science in Technology, the “Excellence in Education of Ukraine” badge holder, Head of NTU postgraduate and doctoral courses. Her key research interest is fluid motion in open flows.
Chmel’ov Igor Volodymyrovich - Associate Professor, Candidate of Science in Technology, the author of 20 scientific publications on energy saving automotive technology system in road transportation. . He teaches the following courses: “Vehicle Operating Characteristics”, “Special Transport and Cargo Handling Facilities”, "Foreign Trade Transport Operations”.
Gerasimenko Alla Volodymyrivna – Teaching assistant, her key research interest is transport safety. She teaches the following courses: “Technology of Airfield Construction and Overhaul”, “Airport Transport Zone ”, “Transport Construction Technological Processes ”.
Alekseenko Alexander Valeriyovich – Teaching assistant investigates motor transport systems monitoring . The author of 8 scientific publications. He teaches the following courses: “Foreign Transport Geography", "Transport Geography”.
Kaskiv Svetlana Vasilyvna - Teaching assistant, investigates road flooded slopes embankment design. She teaches the following courses: "Road and Airfield Design," “Airfield Maintenance”.

Postgraduate courses provide training of well qualified specialists to satisfy the needs of the department as well as those of industry.
Graduate students of the department make research in the following areas:
1. Models and Methods of Aviation Operation. Risk Evaluation
2. Mathematical Model of Airfield Surface Temperature Field.
3. Improvement of Highway Impounded Embankment Design
4. Improvement of Transport Corridors Safety.
The department conducts academic process on full-time and part-time basis. Full-time students usually have 6 assignments for their course-papers and part-time students 2 respectively.
Annually 7-8 Master’s theses and diploma projects are defended at the department.
Topics of diploma projects and Master’s theses are the following: technology and organization of construction and reconstruction of road sections, operation of road sections, traffic engineering and road transportation. Some diploma projects are performed in the form of a graduate work where students use the results of their research work carried out during their studies at the university.
